20120225 - Lunch at Wild Honey Mandarin Gallery

Was blog-hopping and came across this photo on Tunisian Breakfast from Wild Honey.
(Got the strangest cravings on tomato stuff these days. Like minestrone & spaghetti) 
And I thought... OMG I want to EAT...
And the strangest thing happened being my 2nd sister talked about it the next day.
LIKE OMG X 2?
Hence I decided we shall go on Saturday!!!

 I couldnt find the menu for mocktails on the website and din know which board to look at for drinks. Was like a stressful and last minute decision at the counter.
For Drinks I ordered Queen Bee ($9)~ Since I dun drink coffee and alcohol...
It is like soda with grapefruit and... I forgot what is in it. Not particularly impressive actually?

We got seats at the window~
What we ordered! Tunisian & Goat Cheese Salad! They serve quite fast I thought~!

"Tunisian - A sizzling pan of red pepper, onion and tomato concise (stew) studded with sliced chorizo sausage and crowned with two fried eggs" ($18.00)
The reason why I went!! Also what I thought should be the most popular dish there?
 It was good but not what I expected. I was expecting something more tomato based concentrated and so freaking hot that it will burn me but it wasnt & didnt...
Maybe my tastebud is too heavy or I had overly high expectation of the dish...
 But still not too bad! The eggs are cooked just right and I can soak the bread with egg yolk and the stew~!
Cucumber & tomato salad is well just cucumber & tomato coz I couldnt taste anything else...

Bread was nice~
*Cough* It isnt my hands coz my fingers are always unkempt. *Cough Cough*

Goat Cheese Salad - Salad leaves with pan friend goats cheese, pine nuts, brioche batons and bacons
($16)
One of the few salads we ate which my sister & I agreed there are not enough vegetables! Hahahaha! The same type of bread as the previous dish~ There are tons of bacons in the salad which I dun like. Personally think it is quite salty with the goat cheese & bacons.
Probably will not order this again if I am too go there again.

Omg see how thick the goat cheese is!!

 I spend $71.80 for the whole meal. It is omg expensive considering I just ordered like 2 dishes and 2 drinks.

Maybe I have too extreme high expectation of this place so I felt slightly disappointed. 

Some other stuff I dun like...

THE MENU IS WRITTEN ON THE GREENBOARD AT THE COUNTER WITH NO PHOTOS!

How eco-friendly... (-_-)|| Oh they are an ipad there with the menu there AT THE COUNTER. How stressful... Can they do something about the menu like seriously?!

Even their website dun have photos in the menu... Very Helpful indeed. Can you tell me why?

You have to order at the counter...

 

Long queues. But lucky thing we can just leave our contact there~ So we just waited for half an hour. Which din feel like it coz we walked around and got a little lost.

IT ISH EXPENSIVE... For me at least...

Service wise I have to say is not bad coz they served us water when we seated, the food came quite fast & I dropped the napkin and they picked it up without me noticing. 

*Cough* I planned to pick it up when we leave okay? *Cough*

I quite like the deco as well.

Will I go again?

Maybe... To try other stuff when I feel like eating nice breakfast stuff & wallet is more full.

But I dun think this place will pop up my mind any time soon when I feel hungry.
